Saddle Up for Spring Equestrian Style

Spring takes equestrian chic for a ride…

What’s chic and sporty and packing a hefty dose of Downton Abbey-esque elegance? Spring’s equestrian-inspired trend, of course! From whimsical prints to work-fab tailoring, we love this playful update on this stately sportswear staple. Need a bit of direction in tackling this trend? Let us take you on a style ride.

Equestrian-chic is just about your best trend for those tricky in-between and unpredictable seasons—like spring—when you want to get a jump on the style competition but the weather says “whoa”.

In the mood for a leg-baring mini, for example? Worn with dapper riding boots, you get a dash of spring without losing coziness. Put your money on tailored capes and jackets, jodhpurs rather than jeans, and jockey inspired riding caps for a smooth spring transition that’s also appropriate for rainier days.

For a more outré yet equally versatile twist on this trend, we suggest trying out the newest in animal prints. Think graphic, soft, and stylized equine patterns popped up on silk blouses and basic tees, sweaters and sweet frocks. Layer these playful pieces with structured suiting around the office for a quirky aristocratic ensemble. Toss on a leather jacket and you’ve got a totally on-trend western look.

It’s the Year of the Horse, so it’s time to saddle up in style. From the august and old-school to the free-wheeling frontier cool, make equestrian chic your lead into spring.
