Get Your Home Back-to-School Ready

Home room…

As kids ready themselves for a new school year, there are also many tasks for parents. The key to your kids’ success, as any good teacher will tell you, is organization. Start the year off right by creating an inviting, prepared workspace for your children, within your home - an area they can use not just for studying but also for arranging class projects and keeping track of assignments. We’ve gathered a few of our favorites to make your home back-to-school ready.

Manage It:

Wall managers make great use of space, taking things off the floor while elevating them comfortably to your or your children’s eye level. Look for one that multitasks as well as you do. The best incorporate bulletin boards, dry erase areas and even shelving.

Schedule It:

Managers of Logistics, otherwise known as parents of school-age children, require a family calendar of some sort. Try a fun wall calendar that can be erased and re-worked. There are also various child-friendly day planners available. It’s best for the whole family to be able to see what’s coming up at school as well as after school.

Cubby Up:

Dividing shelf space into cubbies can help even the most overwhelmed student compartmentalize projects. Cubbies can run large to small depending, of course, on the size of your home space and the needs of your family.

At Arm’s Length:

Keep your kids’ necessities well within reach by investing in spritely, fun containers for pens, pencils, erasers and maybe even some candy. While learning is its own reward, an occasional sweet treat can’t hurt.
