Sunday Shopping - Dec. 6, 2004
(Dec 8, 2004)
The closer Christmas gets, the more crowded all the stores become. I learned how to dodge the crowds yesterday when I spent almost the entire day shopping to buy gifts for the Adopt-a-Child kids Student Council is sponsoring. My school wound up having four extra children to shop for, so instead of shopping for just one child, I had to shop for five. I never realized how much fun it can be to pick out clothes and toys for other people! I had a ball just trying to decide what kinds of items they’d like.
I went to tons of different stores and wound up with some great deals. I found really cute winter jackets for juniors for only $15! I almost bought one for myself, but then I decided that it would be better if I saved money for all the other Christmas shopping I still have to do. I also found adorable sweaters everywhere I went. It seems like really fuzzy striped sweaters are a very hot item this year. I also found some pretty cool gadgets for the boys like radio pens and new handheld games. I don’t know if a radio pen has a real purpose, but it just seems cool!
I still have a few more things to buy for the kids. I want to get them a couple more fun things. I bought lots of clothes yesterday because that’s mostly what they wanted, but I’m sure they’d still like other items such as jewelry, purses, and games. I have a late-start day on Wednesday (my school’s version of a half-day, where instead of getting out early, we start later) so I plan to finish shopping then. Hopefully, with this shopping excursion complete, I can finish finding gifts for my friends and family.
