Feeling like Royalty - Oct. 2, 2004
(Oct 2, 2004)
The Homecoming Parade was this morning, and it was better than ever! I had a couple of choices of activities that I could march with: French club, Performing Arts Club, or the Class of 2005 Student Council. Since I’m on the executive board for student council, though, I really didn’t help with the Class of 2005 float because I was busy organizing the parade. Then, my mom came up with an ingenious idea. She decided to ask if our friends would drive their son’s convertible (he’s away at a Marine training camp) in the parade, so the executive board could ride in the parade instead of walking.
We had the best ride by far! We rode down the street in a souped up 2002 black Mustang convertible. I totally felt like royalty! We even convinced our sponsor to let us go last in the parade so that it looked like we were the most important. The three of us tied signs to the doors, balloons on the spoiler, and rode sitting on the back of the car. Everyone was jealous of our ride, and it felt like for once, all our hard work paid off! I even got to work on my wave. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll be in another parade.
