Who determines the "in" colors?
Twice a year, a group of prominent designers meet at the Color Association’s offices in New York to forecast the tastes of shoppers. Their predictions are made for two years into the future.
The group looks at color trends and selects shades that they believe will be popular. Within a year, these colors show up in fabric used by designers and in garments purchased by retail buyers.
Pantone, Inc. is considered an authority on color and can translate the selections into a standard, accurate color matching system number (PMS – Pantone Matching System).
